David praised the Lord for everything in heaven and earth is God’s. He acknowledged that wealth and honor come from God and that God is the ruler over all things. He praised and gave thanks to the name of God because God, the author of our lives deserves our praise and thanks. God has done marvelous things in David and the Israelite’s lives. This same God has done marvelous things and wonders, miracles in our lives. May we praise his name and honor his name.

David earnestly prayed for his son Solomon to have wholehearted devotion to keep God’s commands, statutes, and decrees. Then David said to the whole assembly to “Praise the Lord your God.” In response, they all praised the Lord, bowed down, and prostrated themselves before God. The next day, they made sacrifices and presented burnt offerings to God. They all ate and drank with great joy in the presence of the Lord. It was a great celebration. Then they acknowledged Solomon as king a second time. The Lord highly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel. Through this passage, God is exalted and praised for all he has done. May we praise and exalt God for all he has done. Most of all, thank God for sending his one and only son Jesus, to be our savior and king.
