The letter was sent to the exiles from Jeremiah that contained the word of God. The main message was encouraging the exiles to settle down, get married, and pray for the place they resided in to prosper. There was a sure promise from God to bring them back to Jerusalem after 70 years.

Probably, it was hard to believe and trust and stay in that land. The Babylonians captured them and there was much suffering in the new land. There were also false prophets coercing Israelites to move back to Jerusalem.

God's plans and ways are the most correct way and the way to prosper. We sometimes try to plan and calculate. God has the plans to prosper us and not to harm us. We need to daily stay in the place God wants us to stay and continue to do God's mission in our lives. Then our lives will surely be blessed.
